Greatest accomplishment from lifting and/or fitness in general? When I won the NPC Figure Overall Champion position in two shows (Titan Grand Prix & Border States Championships) last year back to back! These were my FIRST two shows with the NPC federation. They were spaced only one week apart! I registered for both because I thought, the first one would be a warm up to the federation and the second one would allow me to fix mistakes from the first one! I had NO idea I would when the first one and because the registration is non-refundable, I went on and did the second one since I already paid for it! I was so scared because I didn’t want to ruin my high from the excitement of winning my first show by doing horribly a week later! After going back and forth with this in my mind, I prayed about it and stepped on stage! God is good – I received the Overall Champion sword number 2!!
Favorite exercise to do in the gym? I LOVE to do anything involving my legs! I don’t know if this is because my legs are strong so I can do more or if it’s because I love to do legs that my legs are strong!! Either way, I love it! I have a special connection with sumo squats and deadlifts though that I just can not deny! Nothing sexier on a woman than a great pair of legs! Sumo Squats and Deadlifts allow me to add the icing to the cake on the legs – great hamstrings!
Ever have guys challenge you in arm wrestling or wrestling? If so what happened? No, I don’t have guys challenge me too much – I’m usually the challenger due to my natural competitiveness! What I get from guys is them trying to “help me” in the gym! They want to touch me and spot me while I’m in the gym to “help correct my posture” or “show me a better way or another way to do an exercise”! Guys think they are so slick! Note: try another route! We ladies already know that trick!
Anything you would like to add or tell your fans? Fitness isn’t something you do but it’s what you are! Avoid diets and pursue lifestyle changes – things you can actually do for a lifetime to aid in your overall good health and fitness. Some people are just merely surviving, practicing every bad habit they can think of! The body is amazing and our creator has created a machine (our body’s AKA temples) that are almost limitless if you take care of it and fuel it with what you need! Stop merely surviving and start pushing yourself to do what you KNOW you need to do anyway! And while you’re at it, my motto is “Why settle for GOOD when you’ve been created for GREATNESS? Mediocrity is for the ORDINARY; snatch the bar and raise it; you’re EXTRAORDINARY!!”
Favorite fitness quote: I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me! (Philipians 4:13)
